Hunting for the bogus “IronFX”, office not found in Australia
Danger Australia

Inspection Reason

The inspection team continued its survey campaign as part of its efforts to inspect the authenticity of the forex brokerage industry by finding out those bogus firms/entities, which usually give themselves away when checked addresses. For this session, the inspection team goes to Australia to search for a suspected bogus firm that uses the name of Cyprus-based forex broker IronFX but does not appear to have any correlation with them.

Office

According to the address shown in its regulation details, the suspected phony “IronFX” had its office located at YUN MA, Level 17, 9-13 Castlereagh Street, SYDNEY. The inspection team sent its survey team to this place for a field investigation.

The surveyors successfully found the office building as indicated by the address, but they did not find the name “IronFX” on a floor directory sign in the lobby.

Just as the surveyors tried to go upstairs to find out more, they were stopped by security guards.

So they had to take a photo of the reception desk, ending their tour abruptly.

Conclusion

A filed investigation did not find the office of the suspected bogus entity that calls itself “IronFX” and is meant to impersonate the real Cyprus-based forex broker IronFX. The company claims to hold licenses respectively from Australia ASIC (417482), UK FCA (585561), Cyprus CySEC (125/10) and New Zealand FSPR (298966). However, these claims are not true. We have checked with the relevant authorities and discovered that the registration and license details do not actually belong to it.
