In 1935, during the economic uncertainty that followed the great depression, UOB was founded to provide banking services to merchants in Singapore. Office

According to regulatory information, UOB’s office in Malaysia is located at Level 6 (A) Main Office Tower, Financial Park Complex, Jalan Merdeka, 87000 Labuan F.T. The inspection team paid a site visit to this place.

According to the address, the survey staff came to Jalan Merdeka Street. As they walked down the street, a white building came into view. This was the Financial Park Complex that the surveyors were looking for. Financial Park was basically occupied by various financial institutions, with many branches of banks, including Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, based here. The surveyors noticed many national flags flying outside the building.

The surveyors entered the building and completed the visitor registration, before taking an elevator to the 6th Floor.

Arriving on the 6th Floor, the surveyors found the logo of UOB in the corridor. The sign showed UOB’s Chinese and English names and addresses. The surveyors found the doors of the offices locked.

The surveyors found a small wooden door here near the office’s main entrance, but it was also kept locked up. Unable to find a way to enter the office for a more detailed survey, the staff had to make their way home.

Conclusion

A field investigation confirmed that the actual address of UOB’s Malaysia office was consistent with its regulatory address.Investors are advised to resort to their good judgement after consulting the said above.
