According to the regulation information, the Japanese licensed broker was located at 1-8-1, Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. The surveyor visited the broker.

According to the regulation information, the surveyor found a very modern office building in a railway station and stopped beside the building’s front door. The blue high-rise in front of which stood a sculpture could be seen here. Such high-rise was not very common in Japan.

The surveyor saw a building name signage at a corner of the building.

The building name signage at another side of the building looked clearer.

The surveyor was surprised to find SMBC’s logo outside the building. The logo was so big that it was quite clear even if standing far from the building. However, the surveyor wasn’t lucky enough to go upstairs for a field survey. 

Conclusion

The visit by surveyors confirmed that the broker’s real address was the same with its regulation address. The broker held a investment advisory license issued by FCA but its possibility of being a clone broker couldn’t be ruled out.
